Tiu Kelep Waterfall
The tourist attraction of Tiu Kelep Waterfall is located in Senaru Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. This waterfall is above the Sendang Gile waterfall. Tiu Kelep Waterfall has a height of 42 meters and is multi-storey.
The waterfall is quite heavy and large with the commlam formed beneath it not so deep just one adult. The bottom of the pool is very soft and flat allowing visitors to swim. In the Sasak language which is the everyday language of the people of Lombok, Tiu means a pool, while Kelep means to fly. The free translation is a pool where foam is flying. At certain times, the flying water granules give rise to rainbows at certain ends of the water. To get to Senaru village it takes around 2 to 3 hours by car from the center of Mataram.
There are two routes taken to get there, namely first through pusuk and second through Senggigi beach. There are no public vehicles that go directly to this location. Therefore, visitors usually rent a vehicle in many car or motorcycle rentals found in the city center (Mataram and Cakranegara). Towards the location of this tourist attraction by walking along a rocky path, through the forest, going up and down several large rocks and tree trunks, crossing the river with slippery rocks and rather heavy currents. It is recommended if you go to the impression to rent a guide provided at the entrance or bring a friend who has been there. From the entrance of the village Senaru the journey begins with trecking past the mossy and steep stairs. After passing the stairs, take the right turn, if we turn left, head towards the Sendang Gile Waterfall. The time of the trip to the location of the waterfall is about 1 hour drive. Entrance ticket is Rp. 10,000 / person.
